Kia ora e te whānau o Te Tauihu

Please take some time to watch this video here from matua Barney Thomas, the CDEM Te Tauihu iwi lead – Tikanga and Marae, which is about the tikanga we will follow as a collective of iwi and mataawaka residing in Te Tauihu.

Matua Barney Thomas discusses the importance of tikanga and the lifting of the rāhui that was put in place at the beginning of the lockdown. Now, it’s time to lift this through the use of karakia.

“So whānau, looking forward to lifting the rāhui, hopefully going back to something we recognise as being normal. There have been many learnings over the period of lockdown, and hopefully, we can talk about those during our reflection time after karakia.’

Details are below for the virtual karakia session – please add this to your calendar.
