He kai kei aku ringa wānanga rangatahi are now accepting expressions of interest for the second He Kai Aku Ringa Wānanga Rangatahi.

We had a fantastic response to our pilot wānanga which was run in July with 8 awesome rangatahi thanks to many of you sharing our panui.

There’s a video in the link below which gives you a little bit of an insight into what we got up to..

Our wānanga are dedicated to developing rangatahi Māori to gather and prepare kai from the whenua, awa and moana. The purpose of our wānanga are to bring together rangatahi who whakapapa to one or more of the 8 iwi of Te Tauihu to foster self-determination, build their capabilities, cultural identity, and self-development.

This wananga will give four rangatahi the opportunity to gain their internationally recognised PADI open water diver qualification. They will be mentored and guided through the whole process and on completion of their qualification they will be taken out on the water to gather kai and put into practice all of their learnings.
