Trustee Elections 2025 – Voting information

NTWT Trustee Elections 2025 – Voting

We have received four nominations for our two Rohe Trustee positions.

As there are more candidates than there are vacancies to be filled for the position of Rohe Trustee, an election will be held between the listed candidates:

•      LITTLE, Margaret Louise
•      REI, Randal Te Ahu
•      STEPHENS, Te Puoho Ki Te Rangi
•      TE MIHA, Fred

Please keep an eye out for your voting packs which will start arriving in your letterboxes after the 13th of November. You can cast your vote online, by mail or in person at our hui-ā-tau/AGM. If you do not automatically receive your voting pack, you can request a special vote by phoning 0800 922 822 and one will be posted out. The attached notice has more information on how to vote. Please note the different close off times for the different voting methods.

The successful nominees will be announced at our Hui-ā-Tau on the 14th of December.

We encourage all eligible whānau to vote, karawhiua!

NTWT Trustee Elections 2025

Nominations need to be received at the Trust office by 5pm Wed 5 November 2025

At our next Hui-ā-tau on the 14th of December 2025, two of our existing trustees will conclude their current three-year terms. They are Fred Te Miha and Margie Little (rohe trustees). Both are eligible for re-election.

In accordance with the Ngāti Tama ki Te Waipounamu Trust Deed, we are calling for nominations for two rohe trustee positions. Only registered whānau members over 18 years old and who reside within the rohe of Ngāti Tama ki Te Tauihu are eligible for nomination.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate skills, knowledge, experience, or achievements in one or more of the following areas: te reo Māori; tikanga Māori; governance experience; business, financial or legal skills; community service; and/or academic achievements.

Nominations need to be received at the Trust office before 5pm Wednesday 5th November 2025.

Te Ipukarea 2025 is fast approaching whānau.

Ngāti Tama are calling for expressions of interest from a photographer/videographer to capture the fun moments and memories of the whole event.
The last date for submitting an EOI is Friday 31 January 2025.

Tēnā koutou e te iti, e te rahi e whakarauika mai nei ki tēnei marae kōrero o Ngāti Tama.  Tuatahi, me huri ō tātou ngākau ki te hunga kua nunumi atu ki te pō, haere, oti atu rā.  Ko rātou te hunga wairua ki rātou, ko tātou ngā mahuetanga iho o rātou mā, tēnā koutou, tēnā tātou katoa.

Welcome to this platform to help us ‘hiki wairua’ – boost our spirits and encourage us to keep doing what we’re doing during this trying time of the Covid-19 lockdown. We will take this opportunity to provide ‘food for thought’ with some snippets from our local history in Te Tauihu, discussion about place names and customs, some Māori language tips, waiata and karakia.

Te Hiki Wairua o Ngāti Tama ki Te Tauihu gives whānau the opportunity to connect with their whakapapa and iwi through stories, information and teachings. This pānui will be a regular segment, each week focusing on different aspects of Ngāti Tama, we welcome whānau contribution.

This publication will also include information and resources for whānau support, updates, wellbeing and health.
