The Trustees of Ngāti Tama ki Te Waipounamu Trust are now calling for applicants for up to two positions, from August 2021 through to the 2023 Hui ā-Tau AGM.
Ngāti Tama ki Te Waipounamu Trust is the entity created to manage and administer the affairs and assets of Ngāti Tama ki Te Tauihu whānau.
The Trustees are now calling for applicants for up to two Associate Trustee positions, to sit alongside Trustees on the Ngāti Tama ki Te Waipounamu Trust Board, from August 2021 through to the 2023 Hui ā-Tau AGM.
The purpose of these appointments is to create a pathway for registered Adult Members to develop the knowledge and skills required for potential future roles in the Ngāti Tama Group including Trustee, Director, employee, appointed komiti member and/or mandated representative.
An Associate Trustee is expected to attend and observe Trust Board hui, Hui ā-Tau, and any other kaupapa to which they are invited by the Trustees.
What we are looking for:
- Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of Ngāti Tama ki Te Tauihu.
- Knowledge and skills or demonstrated potential to develop in one or more areas of governance including: strategic planning, communications, business and finance, leadership, tikanga māori, iwi and regional māori politics, networking, legal and human resources.
- A commitment of approx.10 hours per month for meeting preparation and attendance.
- Internet and phone access for ease of communication including online hui.

TIMELINE:
Fri 16th July – Expressions of Interest Close at 12pm.
Fri 23rd July – EOIs checked for completeness, collated, and sent to Trustees for consideration.
Sat 31st July – Trustees deliberate and select Associate Trustees.
Mon 2nd – Fri 20th August – Applicants are notified of decision and induction begins.
Sat 21st August – First full Board hui with new Associate Trustees.
